About Elena Alexander
I am Elena Alexander, a contemporary geometric abstract painter based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My work focuses on hard-edge abstraction and explores themes of self-reliance, clarity, and personal growth. Each painting is structured with strong geometric shapes and intentional color choices, creating compositions that reflect balance and the pursuit of goals.
Before becoming a full-time artist, I studied science and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Concordia University in Montreal, followed by an MBA. This background shaped the way I approach structure, order, and clarity. Qualities that define my artistic practice today.
My paintings are collected by individuals and businesses in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
As a modern artist working within the traditions of geometric abstraction, abstract expressionism, and color field painting, I create work for people who value independence, decision-making, and building on their strengths.
